I'm sorry for assigning the wrong Importance to this bug, as you
mention, and based on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Importance changing
importance to Medium, as this is a usability issue that does not limit
the functionality of a core application.

** Changed in: update-manager (Ubuntu)
   Importance: Wishlist => Medium

** Changed in: update-manager (Ubuntu)
       Status: New => Confirmed

Title:
  Accesibility: Make update list sortable and add option to
  select/deselect all like in other update managers or synaptic

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Now that synaptic is gone from ubuntu, we need a more accessible way
  to manage updates. Thus some important synaptic features need to be
  brought back.

  A) Sorting
  Sorting was a very important accessibility feature in synaptic and is also available in almost every other major OS ranging from mint update, Mac Os updater to Windows Update, etc.

  mint:

  Windows:

  synaptic:

  B) select/deselect ALL (which also was a feature of synaptic)

  In contrast ubuntu update manager is the least accessible and trying to manage updates with it can cause RSI (Repetitive strain injury).
