Title:
Multiple live CDs on same USB stick boots filesystem on incorrect
  partition

Status in “casper” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: casper

I wanted to create a multiboot Ubuntu live usb stick so that I can
demo the various Ubuntu flavors easily. I partitioned a usb stick and
put Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty live CD on one of the primary partitions on it
which boots fine using grub, either using the chainloader command or
directly booting the kernel and initrd on the partition.

I then tried another Ubuntu-based distro (Linux Mint 7 in my case, but
I think this problem manifests with the official distros as well) in a
larger numbered partition (both physically and logically), but while
the kernel boots and the correct splash image was displayed, when the
desktop finally comes up it is Jaunty desktop from the first
partition, instead of the Linux Mint desktop.
