Title:
apt-clone crashed with SystemError in open(): E:Malformed line 59 in
  source list /tmp/tmp.YvZQbRaLt9/etc/apt/sources.list (dist parse)

Status in “apt-clone” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I upgrade from ubuntu 11.04 to 11.10 on 10-22-11, this error happened
at the very end of the install and the installed worked ok, today I
got some partial upgrade from the ubuntu software center file updater
after the install and reboot I was unable to use unity desktop so
after trying a ton of ideas unity desktop stopped working so I
reinstall 11.10 over 11.10 and got the same error in the install which
was unusable, so I reinstalled 11.10 and, again this error happened.
At this point i have reinstalled 4 time trying to save my personal
info that can not be replaced and each time I have tried to install
11.10 this error fails, and so does the install. Not sure if its the
problem with the install failing but it does say that some software
may not work and may need a manual install so if it fails installing
something the system need and as it does not say what did not get
installed how can you do anything about it, why can't it just keep
track as to what its doing so whatever it fails to do, it can just
reopen it and restart installing where it failed ?? just a question
  and idea. Hope this helps.
