I'm setting this bug to Won't Fix as Jaunty is no longer a supported
release of Ubuntu and there have been no recent reports of this
particular issue.

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: casper

  After booting with live cd option on ubuntu jaunty beta on a vmware
  machine. The login process doesn't finish. In the window list panel
  always is launching a "Start File Manager" many times. Some times the
  number of launchers is reduced but after a while this number is
  increased. And the wallpaper never displays.

  You can see that on the screenshot of the virtual machine.
