Wow, this is an old bug. I only remembered that I filed it because of
the recent netboot tag addition.

I haven't encountered this issue for quite a while now. It was working
fine in 10.04, and probably 9.10, 9.04, and 8.10 as well. It's
definitely been working in all versions past 10.04 so far.

Title:
Ubuntu 8.04 NFS install hangs until Ctrl-N pressed

Status in “casper” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: casper

I added Ubuntu 8.04 to our network install server. When booting, the
system seems to hang after the SquashFS module is loaded; however, if
I wait a minute or two and then press Ctrl-N and Enter, it continues
  booting normally.

Version: Ubuntu 8.04 "Hardy Heron" i386

Expected Results: The system should boot from the network without
  hanging.

Actual Results: System hangs until Ctrl-N, Enter is pressed (after
  waiting 1-2 minutes).
