Title:
fn+up / down (brightness) freezes keys on Samsung N145

Status in “udev” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: udev

  Description:	Ubuntu 10.10
  Release:	10.10

  udev:
    Installed: 162-2.1.1~ppa3~loms~maverick.

Using the screen brightness adjust on the Samsung N145 causes the keyboard to lock.
After installing the samsung-tools from the voria PPA, it becomes clear that the up-event is not triggered (this has been fixed for various other models)

The resolution is to add "*N145*" to the /lib/udev/rules.d/95
-keyboard-force-release.rules file under the samsung models.

This seems to affect so many Samsung N* laptops, surely the rule
should be changed to just be *N* for the samsung models?

I have documented this and my other problems with Ubuntu on the N145
  here (http://twistedpairdevelopment.wordpress.com/2010/11/16
  /installing-ubuntu-on-a-samsung-n145-and-possibly-others/).
