Looks like a configuration problem with flashplugin-installer. What is
the output of:

Bug description:
was upgrading kubuntu 11.04 to 11.10 distribution, said the upgrade
finished with errors, with 4 minutes left before errors started
occuring according to the status bargraph. a restart since the
upgrade was finished, restarted with blank screen + mouse cursor +
system error window, restarted was able to finally log-in correctly,
finish updates, and eventually connect to wlan0 device and provide
internet connection in order to send his bug report. -david
