[Bug 838626] [NEW] cannot authenticate for update-manager

Public bug reported:

When update-manager finds that updates are ready to install, I click on "Install updates" button. However, in the window to authenticate for the update procedure I cannot enter my password.
As the attached scresnshot shows, the password field is greyed out.
The user I'm running the system with is able to sudo root, so running update manager like this:
sudo update-manager
so this can be used as a workaround.
