Public bug reported:

I was going through the installation process when a window popped up
advising me that the installer crashed and to report it here. I am
using a thumb drive to installed Ubuntu 11.04. I made sure to clear all
files from it. I tried it a second time and reformatted the drive using
the "Download the Universal USB Installer" from the Ubuntu download page
and i got to the same point each time, about 80% complete on "Checking
for packages to remove..." I was also advised to attach files
/var/log/syslog and /var/log/partman: but was unable to find them.
Please help me to resolve this further

** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
