[Bug 840354] [NEW] Machine does not shutdown completely after installation

After a fresh install of 11.10 Beta 1 on Thinkpad T61, attempting to
restart shows the "Please remove installation media and close the tray
(if any) then press ENTER:"... CD ejects, but pressing enter does not
shutdown/restart.  (It does when doing an 11.04 installation on the same
machine.)
