Marking this as Fix Released as distupgrade now handles obsolete and not
supported packages, gives the option to remove them.
** Changed in: update-manager (Ubuntu)

Title:
[dist-upgrader] When doing a dist-upgrade the upgrade tool should give
the option to remove packages not being maintained in main any more
Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Bug description:
Binary package hint: update-manager
When upgrading from Breezy to Dapper there is this step where it says
that in the next step some packages will be removed if you do not have
universe enabled. I think it would be useful to have the option to
remove these packages even if you have universe enabled as they seem
mostly useless to the normal user/deprecated by newer versions or
other software.
