Thank you for taking the time to improve Ubuntu.

The installationmedia field is, as it name says, the version you have
installed first. This can be useful when investigating certain bugs. I
suppose since then you have dist-upgraded each time a new release came
out. The version You are using currently is in the DistroRelease field.

To further investigate your specific problem, please attach the contents of the /var/log/dist-upgrade folder.

Title:
  Cannot proceed further on a partial upgrade to 11.10

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  I was using the update-manager to complete an upgrade 11.04->11.10 which reported as partial success initially. update-manager reported it cannot proceed further as one important package was not installed properly. It also recommended to post a bug using 'ubuntu-bug update-manager' in a terminal.
  Later when I accesses the Ubuntu Software Center, it showed a message that apps can neither be installed or uninstalled until the broken package information are repaired. After repairing the package info via Software Center, I was able to use update-manager normally.
