Public bug reported:

I did'nt take the time to update the system for a long time. 1st. I
tried to change to Ubuntu version 10, but problems with the connection
to internet caused it to fail. After I tried to update Ubuntu 8, and
then when the download finished something wrong happened. May be because
I didn't choose which files download.
