[Bug 837406] Re: installer dialogue buttons fall off bottom of the screen on netbooks with small displays

Something else is going on here, possibly at the GTK level. I've set
every container element and label to expand=false and it's still not
shrinking. Unfortunately, glade is broken for PyGI UIs at the moment,
so this is hard to visualize. I'm going to hack up the code to try to
get a better idea of whether or not the new natural sizing in GTK is
breaking.

Title:
installer dialogue buttons fall off bottom of the screen on netbooks
  with small displays

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  In Progress
Status in “ubiquity” source package in Oneiric:
  In Progress

Bug description:
  ISO testing: Installing http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/20110830
  /oneiric-desktop-amd64.iso

Following desktop install instructions on ISO testing
  http://testcases.qa.ubuntu.com/Install/DesktopWhole

  Machine: HP Mini

On a display with resolution 1024x580 quite a few of the installer
dialogue boxes are taller then the screen and hence the buttons fall
off the bottom of the screen. One has to use Alt-left button to move
the diialogue up the screen to be able to access the buttons. This
was not a problem with Natty.

This makes the system un-installable to novice users who don't know
how to use the Alt-left button to drag the installer dialogues around
  the screen.
