apport data added after a clean install from 11.04.
To get the unattended pxe installation to work I added the static route manually on the console as soon as this was possible.
without that static route the installation is unable to find the seed file on our ftp server.
After the installation is finished and the system rebooted into the fresh install of ubuntu 11.04 the static route does get added.
Because of this I doubt the apport information is very usefull, since you should have a look at the pxe initrd image that I've downloaded from the urls mentioned above.
Because DURING the installation the static route is not set by DHCP.
The same problem occurs with the unattended pxe installation of ubuntu
10.04 lucid.

Title:
pxe install ignore classless-static-routes code 121
Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
When doing an unattended pxe installation with either lucid or natty,
after the pxe kernel and initrd are loaded and the network is
configured via dhcp the machine has a valid ip and gateway, but the
static route is not configured.
After adding the route in the console (you have to do this quickly)
the installation loads the seed file and finishes the installation
properly.
After the instalation has finished and rebooted the dhcp conifguration
does add the static route properly.
So this is only the case if you use the images for netbooting with pxe.
I've noticed this on
Description: Ubuntu 10.04.3 LTS
Release: 10.04
running amd64 and i386 versions
and on
Description: Ubuntu 11.04
Release: 11.04
also running amd64 and i386 versions
I've downloaded the pxe kernel and initrd from :
http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/lucid/main/installer-i386/current/images/netboot/ubuntu-installer/i386/
http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/lucid/main/installer-amd64/current/images/netboot/ubuntu-installer/amd64/
The same goes for natty :
http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/natty/main/installer-i386/current/images/netboot/ubuntu-installer/i386/
http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/natty/main/installer-amd64/current/images/netboot/ubuntu-installer/amd64/
I've dug through the bugs reported and it seems this bug has been fixed several times in the past, but somehow the pxe kernel and initrd images seem to have slipped through and have not been fixed as well.
