USC5 shows "Top Rated" applications, both overall and in individual
categories. It also lets you sort search results by rating.

Sorting by actual popularity, as in which things are installed by more
people, is planned for the next major update.

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: software-store

  The software store needs to show and be able to sort by popularity.
  This is a key feature for any category with a lot of entries, like
  music players or games, and especially for new users.

  See bug #237254 for similar issues on synaptic--but this seems more
  urgent for software-store than synaptic.
