Try running this command:

sudo apt-get remove at-spi

It will warn about removing other packages.  Thats fine.  After its
done, try the upgrade again.  If it fails again, attach the files:

/var/log/dist-upgrade/main.log
/var/log/dist-upgrade/apt.log

  Can't install 'ubuntu-desktop'
  I used command "upgrade-manager -d" to update Ubuntu from 11.04 to 11.10, can't install ubuntu-desktop.
  It was impossible to install a required package.
