This is fixed in 4.1.23.3, and I think it was even fixed before 4.0.

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: software-center

  1. In unity select an application that can be downloaded (not installed locally).
  2. This will bring up software-center with the default page with categories.
  3. The user does not see his package and starts clicking around, open a category or even a package description and suddenly is moved to the original package.

  It would be more helpful for the user to see a spin wheel and not be
  presented with the default categories screen.
