Title:
  grub-update defaults to memtest

Status in “grub2” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: grub2

I have Ubuntu Studio. I had only the default Studio kernel (Linux-RT) but recently, automatic updates added the Generic kernel.
Fine, I don't care. The RT kernel was having other problems and I understand that.

However, since the new kernel has been added, 2.6.32-14-generic, grub
  defaults to memtest.

And update-grub or update-grub2 does not correct it.

I edited /etc/default/grub to give me a second or two to go into the
  grub menu, otherwise... whew.
