Sorry I did not reply.  Installed on different machine and all went well.  Must have been system specific.
After using for 2 months the partition was too small.  would not log in to desktop.  logged in via terminal and deleted 6GB music files. 8 GB now available.    getting pop up at login "The configuration defaults for GNOME Power Manager have not been installed correctly"  blank desktop.  Any ideas?

Bug description:
  cant attach the files because they don't get created or saved anywhere
  on the disk.

  At installation crash the following message is displayed:

  Installer Crashed

  File "/usr/lib/ubiquity/gtkwidgets.py"' line 398, in do_set_property self.label. set_text(value)
  TypeError :Gtk.Label.Set () argument 1 must be String, not None
