Talk to Opera then. Their package probably needs to provide one of
"gnome-www-browser" or "www-browser". "aptitude why firefox" can tell
you why firefox is installed. It's still not a bug in APT though. APT
does not guess which package is what, packages have dependencies and
provides to describe their relations and identities. If they're missing
in Opera, that's clearly not our problem.

Title:
Removing firefox installs chromium browser.
Status in “apt” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
Using an up to date install of Oneiric, removing Firefox automatically
installs Chromium, and vice versa, meaning it is impossible not to
have either one of these packages installed.
Expected behaviour is to remove firefox without installing any
additional packages.
Reproduced this on every install of Oneiric I have across 3 PCs, and
can be reproduced by simply attempting to remove firefox.
