Title:
Search for apps using file extensions
Status in One Hundred Paper Cuts:
Invalid
Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu:
Triaged
Bug description:
[add list of files types handled in description of packages]
For instance with octave, it's very hard to find what package I must install to have a particular function.
I give a simple example :
For about 30 minutes, I search to have the "fwhm" function. And I can't just find in what package this function is available.
So, for package that add functionnality in octave, latex, or other, it
would be very useful to have the list of (for example with octave) .m
that it will add in the distribution.
With this in the description, it will allow users to simply search
"octave fwhm" in synaptics to find what package to install. I think
it's a great improvement in the package userfriendliability
[edit] Oops, I think that I'll be burned on public place to have post a resquest of new function instead of reporting a "bug". In fact, I don't think it's really a new function but an improvement of the existing description package. But by re-reading my reporting, I'm in doubts.
