I get this message at boot after the most recent grub update. I didn't
get it before and didn't see any errors when updating grub. (It did ask
and overwrite my /etc/default/grub which I had modified.)

Te exact error message is the one in the bug title. I don't see any grub
related errors in /var/log/apt/term.log either.

Bug description:
  I just had a daily update in Ubuntu 12.04, and during the update, ir
  gace an error saying it couldnt install the update and because of this
  you might not be able to boot from grub.......once I carried on, and
  rebooted, the grub appeared, you hit enter and that error appears
