[Bug 972964] [NEW] Update-manager is extremely slow at removing packages after an update

Public bug reported:

After updating a list of packages with update-manager, the list takes a
few seconds to remove each newly updated element from the list of
packages. Perhaps a redraw is being done after each element is removed
from the list instead of removing all the elements then redrawing.
