Then you can edit /etc/default/grub and run 'update-grub' instead to set
this option in the grub config.

Why would you call this a "successful" boot?  Some services are failing to
start on your system.  We need to see what the cause is.

Bug description:
  The user login screen does not appear during the boot process.  The
  system hangs.  No keyboard interaction helps.

  However, it is possible to "exit" to the TTY and login there to
  command line mode.

  This is not reproducible and occurred for the first time during the
  previous boot attempt.
