Are you using mdadm to activate a DDF or intel array?  Normally dmraid
handles those.

Bug description:
  Looks like a new utility, 'mdmon', was added at some point upstream,
  but never added to the packaging. We should probably ship it, and its
  man page, along with mdadm.
