[Bug 975528] [NEW] install fails on dell xps 1340

Public bug reported:

both on direct install and also from live environment. I know this is
beta1 and 2 is out but that wont even run on my dells - presumably
because af a problem in newer kernels with IR-drivers. Ah what to do?
