Title:
System takes an extraordinary amount of time to hibernate

Status in “acpi-support” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
Whenever I hibernate my system, it seems like it takes an extraordinarily long
  time to hibernate. After
I press the hibernate button, the screen blanks and there is a lot of hard drive
  activity. However,after a while
the HD activity stops, and the hibernate process stalls for about 20 seconds
before it continues writing to the hard disk and powers off.
