The error in the log is:

/etc/defoma/hints/ttf-mscorefonts-installer.hints: Unable to open, or
empty.

This file is included in version 3.2 of the package, so if it's not
there, this seems to be a local error, not a bug in the package.

  Binary package hint: msttcorefonts

  Happened while update manager was working, I can't recall what
  specific program caused this, however, it has happend a number of
  times now, the suggestion offered did not function.
