  update-manager crashed with SIGABRT in raise()

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  Update manager would not do a partial upgrade because it said that
  ubuntu-desktop was not installed. It was. Un-installed and installed
  ubuntu-desktop via apt-get and then re-ran partial upgrade.  At this
  point the crash occured.
