Could you please run "sudo aptd -td --replace" in a terminal and try to
reproduce the error. Afterwards please copy and paste the output here.

Unfortunately the error is hidden by the async programming framework. It
seems that the deferreds are used in a wrong way somewhere in the code.

  Incomplete

Bug description:
  aptd keeps crashing every time it updates the database I guess, but
  apport refuses to report it and insists it's a dupe of a closed bug
  639616. I'll attach the crash file
