I am seeing the following in Precise:
$ gvim

Binary package hint: vim
Whenever I launch gvim from a terminal in Unity, I get this message
after a few seconds
** (vim:5800): WARNING **: Unable to register window with path
'/com/canonical/menu/5400003': Timeout was reached
The gvim window has a regular menu bar and doesn't use Unity's global
menu.
