It must be added in 12.04 by release. This should've been marked as
critical. In reality, it means a new user can't play music or video. I'm
supposed to send out demo videos to journalists so they can see how easy
it is to use and write about it in time for release. But I just can't do
that until this is fixed. So it's really a blocker to me.

Title:
gst-install wants to install i386-version of codec packages on amd64

Status in “sessioninstaller” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Committed

Bug description:
  Hello,

I was testing video playback in Precise Alpha 1 and tried to watch a
  MP4 video file.

After Totem started, the gst-install window came up correctly but
wanted to install the i386-versions of the corresponding codec
packages (see attached screenshot). The amd64-versions were also shown
  but unselected by default.

Selecting the amd64 packages and trying to install them failed after
some time with an "unexspected error" that occured (detailed error
message: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Message did not receive a
reply (timeout by message bus) ).

  Kind regards,
  Jan
