This happens because the installation medium doesn't use up the whole
disk, so the installer assumes that it's possible you might be trying to
use the rest of the disk as part of a more conventional installation.
Some people do in fact want to do this, IME. That said, maybe we can
tweak the limits, as this disk is fairly small.

On a non-Mac system the installation device is not listed.
