I am facing the same problem. However, my printer is a Toshiba E-Studio
5520C. When I try to print I get the same result as in the description.
Even with another ppd file. Could you explain what you mean by "using
manufacturers driver downloaded from internet"?

  driver, print jobs fail and the printer reports following error

  Printer is able to print using manufacturers driver downloaded from
