Public bug reported:

This is wish to include in the ubuntu Distribution the following
package:

Grubpass (link: http://sourceforge.net/projects/grubpass/) also (link:
http://grubpass.sourceforge.net/)

Reasons to do so:

Setting the password for the Grub2 is rather cumbersome and the
procedure explained at:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1369019
http://www.ubuntugeek.com/tag/set-grub-2-password-protection-ubuntu
http://ubuntuguide.net/how-to-setup-boot-password-for-grub2-entries

are quite complicated.

The Grubpass is an wizard-like software allowing to quickly and easy do
the dirty work. It also includes several other very useful options like
removing old kernels etc. The screenshots at
http://grubpass.sourceforge.net/about.html are quite appealing.

I tested the Grubpass software on my Xubuntu 12.04 installation, with
perfect results.

I contacted the author of the Grubpass package (Meiko Diszeratis - link:
http://sourceforge.net/users/mdiszeratis) and he is favorable to
including the package into the Ubuntu distribution.

Please forgive me if this is not the right place to report such issues,
but I found no better place to start.

Thanks you for your attention.

** Affects: grub2 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
