Title:
distupgrade fails if update-altertives used to the set python to
currect version
Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
I have added pyton to update-altertives to switch between version as a
result /usr/bin/python always points to /etc/alternatives/python.
DistUpgradeController.py refuses to allow the upgrade even if
/etc/alternatives/python points to the correct version of python. The
attatched patch will verrify the correct verision is set in this
scenario as while still failing for other unexpected changes. It will
also fail if a non-default python version is in use via update-
alternatives which can cause strange issues.
