Public bug reported:

I started an upgrade to Ubuntu 12.04 yesterday. I left the machine in
the office running the upgrade overnight since it was getting late. I
came in this morning to complete the upgrade, which was stalled at the
"Remove obsolete packages?" prompt. The upgrade itself went flawless,
but there is one catch: the screensaver was apparently disabled, causing
burnin on the monitor. I am now stuck with the "Upgrading to Ubuntu to
version 12.04" and "Remove obsolete packages?" dialogs bleeding through.
