Title:
md5sum and sha1sum do not work in Ubuntu Precise

Status in “coreutils” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  I just downloaded lubuntu-12.04-desktop-i386.iso from
cdimage.ubuntu.com. When I tried to verify the download with

  md5sum -c ~/Downloads/MD5SUMS

all 8 listed files failed to read, although the download is in the
same directory as the MD5SUMS file (Which I downloaded from the same
  site).

  sha1sum gave the same error.
