Title:
Cannot upgrade using 12.04 desktop iso unless connected to internet

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
On a machine with Ubuntu 11.10 installed, boot from 12.04 i386 desktop
iso CD and select Install. One is then given the options of
Installing alongside, Upgrading 11.10 to 12.04, Remove 11.10 and
install 12.04, and Something Else. However if the machine is not
connected to the internet I find that I cannot select the Upgrade
  option.

Since the reason for wanting to upgrade from CD is that the machine is
not connected to the internet this is unfortunate.
