[Bug 1032175] [NEW] ubiquity: install screen "Who are you" finds my machine name on the network even on names that don't exist

Public bug reported:

Today's ISO test (2nd August), AMD64 image, Desktop install, on the
"Install, Who are you?" screen. I entered several valid machine names
that I know does not exist on my small home network in the "Your
computer's name:" field and I always got the error messages in red:
"That name already exists on the network.".

This is wrong and misleading. A novice user may then keep on trying to
find a unique machine name and then give up with the install if they
keep on getting clashing name error messages.

** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
