Nicholas, if you aren't using samba4, perhaps try purging it and all of
its configuration. Make sure you backup all of your configuration files
and then run.

sudo apt-get purge samba4 winbind

And then try to re-install wine and winbind.

  I had a previous install error with samba4, so why would samba4 be
