That would still be a bug in my opinion - I'm not 100% sure how the
upgrade check is done, but I think there is a special "marker" file on
the CD/USB image that identifies the version of Ubuntu contained in it.
Since Bodhi Linux is derived from Ubuntu, it is possible that the
developers left the marker file there, so your computer identified the
USB key as an Ubuntu upgrade.

This opens a bigger problem, as there is currently no other way to
identify Ubuntu CDs other than that marker file. Either we ask all
people that publish Ubuntu-derived distributions to remove that file, or
we include another marker file specific to Ubuntu ISOs.

Unfortunately I'm on a low bandwidth connection so I can't test more
thoroughly the issue by downloading a Bodhi Linux ISO and checking it,
but I'll ask on the Ubuntu development IRC channels and lists what can
be done next.

** Changed in: update-manager (Ubuntu)
       Status: Incomplete => New

** Summary changed:

- a box poped ! Asked me to update ! then suddenly showed an error
+ Ubuntu asks to upgrade when a support containing an Ubuntu-derived distribution is inserted

- staed that update has failed
+ When a support containing an image of an Ubuntu-derived distribution is
+ inserted, a message pops up asking to upgrade the existing installation,
+ then an error message is shown stating that the update has failed.
