Public bug reported:
this bug is probably not in ubiquity, but you guys know better what
packages ubiquity is using...
on a laptop with:
Processor: Intel Core i7-2860QM @ 2.5GHz, 8MB Cache @3.6GHz
Mainboard: Clevo P170HM GTX560M
RAM: 16GB (4 x 4GB DDR3 PC-1333 PIN200 Kingston)
Harddisks: 256GB SSD SATA-3 (Crucial CT256M4SSD2) und 1TB Sata 5400rpm (Samsung hn-m101mbb)
Steps I took:
made bootable usbstick in Win7 64 SP1 with "unetbootin-windows-578.exe"
... "md5sum ubuntustudio-12.04-dvd-i386.iso
1129bc01b85b3c1c714bd27f68f3f2f8 ubuntustudio-12.04-dvd-i386.iso"
start from the usbstick... made install process as usual... (Language:
"Deutsch"; kb-layout: "Deutsch (Schweiz)", install method: 'something
different'; ...)
the Laptop was not connected to power-supply... while installing i
sometimes moved the mouse to avoid screensaver... while waiting for
install to finish I made a phone call... screensaver got activated when
I already could see the 'restart' Window where one have to put the
'restart now' button... when moving the mouse to deactivate this black
screen, the Restart-Window disapeard (i could see it for a second or
less). Hitting 'Enter'-Key doesn't worked, also not if I hit 'Tab' one
or several times.... but was still able to change to tty2... (and change
back as well)... and the message that the power of the Laptop is on low
level got activated in upper-right corner (after the reboot-window
disapeard)
so I saved partman and syslog before reboot...
