OK, so the name in the file is correct - but the network name doesn't
match - why?

Questions:
  1) Did you preseed?
  2) What's your pxe config
  3) Is the biosdevname package installed ? If it isn't then what happens if you install it - does it pick the right name up?

I'm suspecting the problem is biosdevname hasn't been installed, and
hence it doesn't get renamed to em10.

  After installing installing ubuntu server via the netboot image I get
  no (wired) internet connection on this hardware:
