The log shows:

> Searching for GRUB installation directory ... found: /boot/grub
> /etc/default/grub: line 11: splash: command not found
> run-parts: /etc/kernel/postinst.d/zz-update-grub exited with return code 127

This indicates that you have edited /etc/default/grub by hand and it is
no longer a valid shell script.  You will need to undo your edits to
this file locally.

       Status: New => Invalid
