i If you note this bug isn't about fixing a grub MBR windows bug.

It's about a bug in Ubuntu where those users who wish to not be
there(MBR) and correctly set up boot to do this will have Ubuntu error
after install.

An aside, you would fix UEFI which by your definition is another windows
bug?

Installing grub to MBR interferes with Windows 7 upgrades

Status in “grub-installer” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
If you manually parition your hard drive on a dual boot computer in a
  manner such as

  /dev/sda1 - windows files(os)
  /dev/sda2 - windows
  /dev/sda3 - windows
  /dev/sda4 extended partition
  /dev/sda5 linux swap
  /dev/sda6 ext4 /boot
  /dev/sda6 ext4 /
  /dev/sda7 ext4 /home

The you install ubuntu and choose to install grub to /boot rather than
