Title:
AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute 'split'
Status in “python2.5” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Status in “python2.6” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
On a recent Live CD installation attempt, I received strange crashes
from ubiquity and then apport. It turns out that they were getting
the AttributeError mentioned in the title ...
The interesting thing is that this file was empty and returning
Input/Output error when trying to read it. Yet Python happily claimed
to import it just fine, and didn't error out at all.
