Public bug reported:

While trying to upgrade from Ubuntu 10.04.4 LTS to 12.04 LTS I got an
error message that said: Subprocess installed post-installation-Skript
gave back error value 245

When I type: apt-cache policy pkgname
I get back: 
W: Duplicate sources.list entry http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid-updates/main Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/archive.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_lucid-updates_main_binary-i386_Packages)
W: Duplicate sources.list entry http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid-updates/main Translation-de (/var/lib/apt/lists/archive.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_lucid-updates_main_i18n_Translation-de)
W: Package pkgname can not be found
