throws exception for non-512-byte logical sectors

Status in “parted” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: firefox-3.5

Trying to re-install Ubuntu for dual boot on a Dell with XPP SP3.

Machine was freezing on Ubuntu startup.

  Uninstalled Ubuntu on Windows side.

  Removed Ubuntu from boot.ini

  Rebooted.

Using either wubi.exe or a CD, I get to the same place and freeze.

Attached image is a screen shot of error message.

  Done this before:

  Ubuntu - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7KAE_02VB0 - 2 min 56 sec

  Never seen the message before.

  Thanx,
